The client approached us to promote his new website, which was created on the basis of a ready-made Wordpress template. But there are several hundreds of similar projects, so we began to think how to stand out among competitors.

Semantic core

For a month we have collected a complete semantic core — more than 400 keys. Due to high competition we emphasized on low-frequency queries. As a result, we increased the semantic core 5 times, and the number of keys amounted to 1160.

It was necessary to regularly update semantics, as some commercial queries became informational or simply ceased to be relevant.

Both technical indicators and usefulness of the text for the user were analyzed.

Meta tags were also adjusted, as all queries were not taken into account and the snippets were not attractive.

All texts on the site were checked for quality. They turned out not to be unique and not optimized for key queries, so a content plan was made to rework old materials and create new ones according to the collected semantics.

Link building strategy

We found out that competitors had a large volume of external link mass: from 110 to 3194 donors. Some of the sites that are in the top are already 20 years old, and the client's site is new (2020).

At first, we gradually received links, the minimum cost of which in the U.S. — 50$, so we used free methods as much as possible: registered on thematic sites and participated in forums. At the moment the number of indexed links is 382.
