Client: Ekobalta VG TECHNICAL TEXTILES
Business profile: Realization of technical fabrics for various industries in the Baltic States, Scandinavia, and the rest of Europe. The company «Ekobalta VG TECHNICAL TEXTILES» has been operating on the Latvian market since 1996!
Task: Create a showcase website for the sale of the client’s goods.
What was done: prototyping, design, layout, programming, testing.
History of the project: Initially, a client came to us for site improvements, but after doing a brief technical audit of the website, we realized that it won’t be enough!
The website the client gave us was in a terrible condition. It was developed on outdated software, without taking into account modern programming methodologies, not to mention the fact that even the basic SEO requirements for the website were not taken into account. As we told the client about this, all the disadvantages and a couple of pluses that took place, we unanimously came to the conclusion that it is better to make a new high-quality website, taking into account all the wishes of the client.
Prototyping and design: The client asked to adhere to the existing ‘s design, so we just tidied it up: updated, made some changes to the page structure, and added some elements.
Layout and programming: The stage of layout went smoothly, according to the classical scenario, in contrast to programming. At the programming stage, we faced difficulties in the implementation of all the «wishes» of the client. Of course, all of them were resolved successfully, but the biggest challenge was the implementation of the delivery of goods to customers. Sounds easy, right? No matter how it is! It would seem nothing special, the usual functionality. But the client, in most cases, implements the delivery of goods through parcel machines, and there is a lot of them. It would be just hard to output information through the code so that it remains static, then there would be no problems. But the client wanted to constantly make changes to the parcel machines on his own, so he had to get out. To get out is the right word since there are more than 3000 parcel machines and the admin panel simply could not stand it! Therefore, it was decided to write a module specifically for this project so that everything would work as expected.
Finally, when everything was done, we set up redirects from the client’s old website so that he would not sag in positions and release the product to the world.
